Certificate of Origin (CvO)
A certificate of origin (CoO) is a document that indicates the origin of a product. A COO shows in which country a product was made. Without a CoC, you may encounter difficulties if you want to import products into a certain country. Some countries outside the EU request a CoO due to trade policy measures, such as boycotts, import restrictions and import quotas. On the other hand, in some countries with a CvO you have to pay less or even no import duties at all. The MFN import tariff (most favored nation tariff) applies there.
Free Sale (cosmetics, special product groups and food supplements)
A Free Sale Certificate (FSC) is intended to register a specific product in a third country (country outside the EU). This FSC may therefore only be used for these purposes. No consignment of goods may be linked to this document. Whether an FSC is required varies per country. Before we export your order, please check with your local authorities whether an FSC is necessary. . A Free Sale certificate indicates that the products can be freely traded in the EU. They must also comply with EU laws and regulations.
The application of this document to the authorities may take 15-20 days for new products.
Export declaration (cosmetics, special product groups and food supplements)
As soon as you place an order and an actual export takes place, it becomes a 'consignment of goods' that leaves the country and the consignment may need to be accompanied by an export declaration.
An export declaration (batch declaration) contains a detailed explanation of the batch of goods being exported. This statement contains all information regarding the lot, weight, quantities, etc. This statement contains all the information that customs needs to (possibly) inspect the consignment.
If a Free Sale certificate has been requested to register the product, an export declaration will be required for every shipment from that moment on.
In case a Free Sale was not necessary for registration, it is important to check whether it is mandatory for your customs that the shipment includes an export statement.
The application of this document to the authorities may take 7 days (or 15-20 days for new products) Other documents
EUR.1 (for countries with a trade agreement)
A EUR.1 is a certificate with which a reduction or exemption on import duties can be obtained in the country of destination (so-called tariff preferences). A EUR.1 is used in trade between the European Union (EU) on the one hand and a large number of countries or territories on the other with which a free trade agreement has been concluded. A EUR.1 certificate is only used for goods of preferential origin. The use of a EUR.1 is not mandatory.
It can be interesting because it can provide a financial advantage. In some cases there is very little difference between the general and the preferential rate and then it is less interesting to make an effort. If the goods of preferential origin in a shipment do not exceed the value of EUR 6,000, then a EUR.1 certificate does not need to be used.
